Congratulations to KHNP on being selected as the preferred contractor for the completion of the Dukovany NPP

We congratulate KHNP on being selected as the preferred supplier for the construction of new nuclear units in the Czech Republic, giving the Czech Republic the assurance of a leading nuclear technology provider and a strong partner for decades to come.

In the last two years, the Czech Power Industry Energy Alliance and the Czech companies themselves have held a series of intensive negotiations with KHNP on the use of their nuclear know-how and on their maximum involvement in the largest project in the history of the Czech Republic, which will provide Czech citizens and companies with sufficient electricity for the next 60 years and more.

We are glad that these negotiations were very constructive, we thank you for them and we look forward to their expected acceleration by the time the contract between KHNP and the tenderer is signed.

As the second most important nuclear industry in Europe, we are convinced that KHNP will keep its declarations about 65% involvement of Czech companies in the project. We currently have dozens of Memorandums of Understanding with KHNP and units of future contracts. This is a good basis for the future and the Czech industry is ready to negotiate intensively to complete the contractual arrangements for the participation of the Czech industry in the expected and so important for the Czech Republic 65% of the total deliveries and also in roles that will be significant from the supply chain perspective, to the benefit of the industry and the project itself.

However, due to the deadlines set by the project’s contracting authority, ČEZ, there will be no time to rest. It is imperative that negotiations between industry and the preferred supplier begin immediately, not only because of the need for Czech companies to adapt to future deliveries to KHNP, but also because of the need to prepare and launch specific vocational study programmes at universities and secondary schools ideally as early as 2025 and the need for overall project implementation preparation.

Congratulations again to KHNP and we look forward to further cooperation.
