The main topic of the JADRO Conference, which was held on the 5th of November 2024 under the auspices of the Construction Industry Association and CPIA, was the completion of Dukovany. At the conference, representatives of KHNP, the winners of the tender, presented the location and preparations for the organisation of the construction of the nuclear reactors, a contract worth CZK 400 billion.
The requested presentation of the project’s location and organization, however, did not please Czech entrepreneurs or government representatives, and concerns about the involvement of Czech industry in the project of the century still persist.
The main topic of the conference was the completion of Dukovany. On the Czech side, there are concerns as to whether it will be possible by the March contract signing with the winner of the tender, the South Korean company KHNP, to enshrine in the documents clear commitments as to what percentage and how domestic industry and construction will be involved in the project, which for the Czech Republic represents not only the contract of the century, but also energy and security self-sufficiency.
