We signed a memorandum with the consortium of Westinghouse and Bechtel

On Wednesday, 30 January, representatives of the Czech Power Industry Alliance and the consortium of Westinghouse and Bechtel signed a memorandum on mutual cooperation of the Czech industry on the completion of new nuclear power plants in the Czech Republic.

“Our AP1000 technology projects benefit significantly from extensive localisation of critical manufacturing and service work. I expect that at least 70% of the work on this important project will be awarded to Czech companies,” said David Durham, Westinghouse’s President of Power Systems.

The signing establishes a working group to facilitate the participation of Czech companies in the deployment of up to four AP1000® reactors at the Dukovany and Temelín nuclear power plants.

“We see the signing of this agreement as a very important step in the mutual cooperation of all parties involved. The efforts of the established working group will ensure maximum involvement of the Czech industry in the construction of new nuclear power plants in the Czech Republic as a truly strategic partner for the AP1000 technology,” adds Josef Perlík, Executive Director of CPIA.

The press release was taken over by the oenergetice.cz website. A number of Czech news sites, such as idnes.cz, also wrote about the crucial involvement of Czech industry in the construction of the NPP.
